Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes says he is overjoyed to win his sixth Premier League Player of the Month award, after scooping the prize for March.

Our skipper beat six other players to claim the award, as he continues to impress for the Reds.

With Michael Carrick's side having embarked on a four-day trip to Dublin on Monday, Fernandes spoke exclusively to club media ahead of the training camp.

All eyes are firmly fixed on our last seven top-flight games, and Bruno began by thanking the fans for their unrivalled support.

"Obviously I am always grateful even more [because] we know that all the fans vote for it, so I really appreciate that they have voted for me in this month and in all of the other five that I've got before also," he began.

"It was a good month, not only for me, but also for the team. So I am very happy with it."

Fernandes is now level with Reds legend Cristiano Ronaldo for Premier League Player of the Month wins, and he says it is an honour to join his compatriot and trail only Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and Mo Salah in the all-time list - all three have seven prizes to their name.

"Yeah, it's always good company to be in. We know when his records are there, his name is gonna be always around, so it's quite common for anyone and everyone in the world of football.

"But it is obviously a huge honour and privilege for me to be close to him in this category."

When pressed for his most memorable March moment, Bruno highlighted our impactful win against fellow Champions League chasers Aston Villa.

The skipper laid on two assists for both Casemiro and Matheus Cunha during the victory, taking his United tally into three figures, and he couldn't hide how big of a success it was in M16.
