Bruno Fernandes Player of the Month

Bruno retains monthly award

Bruno Fernandes has picked up his second successive Player-of-the-Month award, after some stellar showings throughout April.

The midfielder, who was voted star man in March, earned the trophy for the second time this season by continuing his excellent form. Despite being asked to play a variety of different roles, the Portugal international has still displayed impressive consistency and, of course, scored in our final game of last month, the 1-0 victory against Aston Villa.

Bruno certainly impressed supporters with his resilience and character too, shrugging off what looked a serious injury in the Emirates FA Cup semi-final shootout win over Brighton & Hove Albion and appearing four days later in the 2-2 draw at Tottenham, hitting the bar following a sensational piece of skill.

Who is your Player of the Month for April?

It was a close-run thing at the head of our poll, which ran on the United App and ManUtd.com, allowing supporters to have their say on the outcome.

Bruno finished with almost half of the vote (49 per cent), though, to fend off strong competition from centre-back Victor Lindelof, who scored the decisive penalty against the Seagulls at Wembley.

Luke Shaw, the other nominee, polled 10 per cent.

The last five monthly awards have been shared between Rashford (3) and Fernandes (2), which could suggest the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year voting will be interesting when it opens to the public.

Our no.8 lifted that prestigious trophy in his first two seasons at the club, in 2019/20 and 2020/21.

Congratulations, Bruno!
