A year into Bruno Fernandes’s Manchester United career, and our no.18’s huge impact on the team is still being recognised and celebrated.

The Portuguese international made his Reds debut exactly a year ago today (Saturday 1 February), when we played out a goalless draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League at Old Trafford.

In that time, Bruno has hit the ground running at Old Trafford. In his first 53 matches for United, last year’s January signing has registered 28 goals and 18 assists and even captained the side during October’s 2-1 UEFA Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain.

To mark a year since Fernandes's arrival, we're counting down his best strikes - which is your favourite?

Therefore, it won’t come as a shock to discover Bruno has been voted the greatest January signing in Premier League history.

BBC Sport ran a poll last week to mark the midfielder’s monumental first 12 months as a Red and asked their readers to vote for who they believe to be the best winter arrival since the introduction of transfer windows in 2002.

Fernandes earned an incredible 31 per cent of the BBC vote, beating Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk - signed in 2018 - who wracked up just over a quarter of votes.
Former Reds defender Nemanja Vidic was in third with 15 per cent, while Patrice Evra was also included in the 10-man shortlist, to recognise his January 2006 transfer - the same month Vidic also moved to Old Trafford.

Bruno wasn’t the only current Red among the nominees - Nemanja Matic earned a spot for his January switch from Benfica to Chelsea in 2014, where he spent three-and-a-half years before his transfer to United.

VOTING BREAKDOWN:

Bruno Fernandes (Sporting Lisbon to United, 2020) - 31 per cent
Virgil van Dijk (Southampton to Liverpool, 2018) - 26 per cent
Nemanja Vidic (Spartak Moscow to United, 2006) - 15 per cent
Luis Suarez (Ajax to Liverpool, 2011) - 13 per cent
