Fernandes completes historic awards double
Bruno Fernandes has been voted the Manchester United Players’ Player of the Year, presented by Snapdragon, completing an historic awards double for the Portuguese magnifico.
It was announced earlier today that our popular club captain has been voted the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year by supporters all around the world, with an impressive 82 per cent margin.
That prestigious honour makes Bruno just the third player in Reds history to win the historic fan-voted prize four times, alongside former team-mates David De Gea and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Further recognition from the dressing room is another distinguished moment, capping an influential campaign for the playmaker on an individual level.
Bruno received the most nominations from team-mates in a confidential ballot that was held at Carrington earlier this week.
Fernandes came out on top in the internal poll, with defender Noussair Mazraoui finishing second and forward Amad in third place.
This is the first time that Bruno has won the Players' Player of the Year award during his six seasons at United, despite his incredible form and talismanic contributions.
He has now won all three of our major end-of-season awards, after previously claiming the Goal of the Season trophy in 2020/21.
But there is no time to celebrate for our no.8, who is busy preparing for Friday evening’s Premier League match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
After that, Fernandes is determined to add one more honour to his 2024/25 resume, by lifting the Europa League following next Wednesday’s final against Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao.
Congratulations on your success, Bruno, and keep up the great work!
