Tuesday 22 July 2025 12:00

Bryan Mbeumo is excited at the prospect of going on pre-season tour with Manchester United, immediately after completing his eagerly anticipated move to the club from Brentford.

The 25-year-old forward was officially confirmed as our second senior arrival of the summer — after Matheus Cunha, from Wolverhampton Wanderers — on Monday afternoon.

On Tuesday, he is expected to join the squad as Tour 2025, presented by Snapdragon, continues with our participation in the Premier League Summer Series in the USA.

Bryan Mbeumo: The signing interview

WORLD EXCLUSIVE | Bryan Mbeumo speaks for the first time as a Manchester United player. Don’t miss it…

Speaking in his signing interview with club media, Mbeumo explained his happiness at being able to travel with the squad and have the opportunity to settle in as a Red while on tour.

“It’s really important for me,” he told us.

“It’s important to create links as soon as possible, automatism as well as the team-mates, in and out of the pitch. The spirit is really important, to create a group, so being involved as soon as possible for me is really important.”

Mbeumo has shown a capacity to link up well with his team-mates at previous clubs, having first established a productive partnership with Ivan Toney for Brentford, before building a new and effective duo with Yoanne Wissa in more recent seasons.

United fans will be hoping he can do something similar with the variety of quality attacking players at Old Trafford, but perhaps most notably with fellow new signing, Matheus Cunha.

“Obviously I watched him play a lot with Wolves,” Mbeumo said, of the Brazilian forward who signed from Wolverhampton Wanderers in June.

“I know he’s a very good player and I’m sure he’s going to bring something new to the team. Obviously there’s a lot of excitement and I’m ready for it.”

With Mbeumo joining on Monday, it’s not yet clear whether he’ll be ready to play in our first game in the USA, on Saturday evening against West Ham United in New Jersey. Whether it’s then, or in Chicago or Atlanta, fans will be excited to watch him bring his qualities to Ruben Amorim’s team. Subscribe to MUTV now to watch Mbeumo’s first minutes in action.
