Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo has explained the thinking behind his latest goal celebration.

The Cameroon international has been having fun with Amad after hitting the net for the Reds, as he did twice in the recent home victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Some fans were wondering what the pals were up to and, during for our Inside Carrington podcast as he received his second Player of the Month award as a Red, our leading scorer this term was happy to reveal the inspiration behind the moves.

Amad and Bryan do the 'Homer dance' against Brighton.

"It's from a GIF from Homer Simpson," he said. "Yeah, so if you go on the GIF [section in your phone] and you put 'Homer Simpson dance', you will be able to find it.

"I think we've been talking about this [Amad and I], this morning with him, so let's see [about any future celebrations]."

The Simpsons was created in 1987 and is the longest-running American sitcom, animated series and scripted primetime TV series, with Homer, the father of the family, the lead character.

The dance features in popular video game Fortnite, helping to fuel its popularity.

The African pair showed off the same moves in the dressing room, after the win against the Seagulls, but Mbeumo was quick to praise all of his team-mates for their contribution to his latest individual award.

"Obviously, I'm very happy with this," he added. "But, as I always say, I think it's teamwork, and a lot of players would have deserved this as well this month, so I'm happy."
