Mbeumo scoops Premier League award
Bryan Mbeumo has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for October.
The Manchester United forward also picked up our club prize for the same period, earning the trophy for a second time since joining from Brentford during the close season.
Across our three games in the month, the Cameroon international provided an assist in the 2-0 win over Sunderland, opened the scoring early on in the superb 2-1 triumph at Liverpool and netted twice against Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford.
As a result, Bryan's efforts ensured he finished ahead of seven fellow nominees in the voting.
Matty Cash (Aston Villa), Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle United), Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Eli Junior Kroupi (Bournemouth), Nordi Mukiele (Sunderland), Igor Thiago (Brentford) and Jurrien Timber (Arsenal) were also in contention.
For all his endeavours with Brentford, this is the first time that Mbeumo has won the overall divisional award.
He is only the second Cameroonian to land the trophy, after former Liverpool defender Joel Matip, in February 2022.
Our last victor in this field was Bruno Fernandes, as recently as March.
Well done, Bryan!
Meanwhile, Mbeumo and Reds team-mate Senne Lammens have been nominated for the PFA Premier League Fans' Player of the Month award. You can cast your vote here.
The pair are on the shortlist alongside Haaland, Kroupi, Mukiele and Arsenal defender Gabriel.
