Casemiro has shared a fascinating insight into the playing styles of his fellow Manchester United midfielders, during an exclusive interview with club media.

An absorbing first section of the ‘Midfield Masters’ feature starring the Brazilian, first seen in April’s edition of Inside United magazine, is now available to watch below.

In the seven-minute video, Casemiro talks us through the players he has shared the middle of the park with, providing his knowledgeable assessment of the individual qualities that each team-mate possesses.

Casemiro gives us the lowdown on his fellow midfielders at United and, as you can expect, his insight is fascinating...

Included in that is the captain, Bruno Fernandes, who our no.18 has developed a strong connection with, since joining United in August 2022.

“Bruno is a very sharp player,” Casemiro begins.

“From any space the opposition provide, he'll find a ball to assist a team-mate. He's one of the sharpest players towards goal I've played with in my career.

“He doesn't need two touches to put a player through on goal. He's a player who creates a lot of opportunities, I think he's one of the sharpest players I've known in my career.”
It is high praise for Fernandes from his much-experienced colleague, who has played with some of the most celebrated creative minds in the game’s last decade, while on the pitch for the Reds, Brazil and his previous club, Real Madrid.

But Casemiro’s acclaim for the Portugal international – who is set to represent his nation at this summer’s upcoming UEFA European Championship – does not stop there.

He says Bruno’s influence goes much further than on a matchday and explains that he has also developed a close relationship with our captain away from the pitch.

Bruno registered 28 goal involvements and was crowned Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year for the third time...

“Even though Bruno speaks numerous languages – Spanish, Portuguese, English and Italian – I'm privileged to speak the same first language as him, Portuguese. Therefore we are close,” he adds.

“Bruno is a friend, someone who has helped me a lot here since the start. I'm very thankful for Bruno on and off the pitch.

“On the pitch we all know Bruno, an extraordinary player and off the pitch he's a friend. Our daughters are in the same class at school together.

“It's a pleasure to have such friends on and off the pitch, and I'm so pleased he's at United. He's a brilliant player and a great person who helps us a great deal.”
