Casemiro recognised at Globe Soccer Awards

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro was presented with an award for his career achievements at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai on Friday evening.

The 31-year-old, now Brazil's national-team captain, lifted the Champions League five times while at Real Madrid, the club he represented between 2013 and 2022.

His extraordinary record of winning trophies continued during his first season with the Reds as Casemiro was integral to our Carabao Cup success in 2023, scoring the opening goal during the final win over Newcastle United at Wembley.

Our no.18 continues to be regarded as one of the world's best midfielders and will no doubt be ready to show what he's capable of when he returns from a hamstring injury which has kept him out of action for two months.

The star-studded evening was also attended by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Erling Haaland and Rodri.

Case was named on the substitutes' bench for the game against Tottenham on Sunday and, although he didn't make it on to the pitch, he was given a warm reception from the Old Trafford crowd as he warmed up on the sidelines.

With Erik ten Hag's squad currently resting and recuperating during the winter break, Casemiro was in the Middle East to accept the Player Career gong, with former United and Real team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo among those watching on.

Former Chelsea skipper John Terry and Argentina World Cup-winning coach Lionel Scaloni were presented with similar prizes at the ceremony, which also recognised the best players, coaches and journalists from the past year in the football world.

Congratulations on your award Case, and we hope to see you back in the red shirt soon.
