Manchester United is delighted to announce that Charlie Savage has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who joined the Academy at the age of nine, made his first-team debut in last December’s Champions League match against Young Boys at Old Trafford.

Savage has agreed a new deal that will keep him at Old Trafford until at least June 2025, with the option to extend for a further year.

Savage signs his new deal alongside Nick Cox and Darren Fletcher.

The Leicester-born youngster signed his first professional contract in April 2021, at the end of a season in which he had made 23 starts for United’s Under-18s side.

He has represented Wales from Under-17 to Under-19 levels.

Savage has enjoyed a variety of experiences in United's youth teams over the course of 2021/22. His 19 appearances for the Under-23s were rounded off by a late-season Old Trafford goal in March’s 3-0 victory over Everton.

In the Under-21s, Charlie was one of only four players to start every game in the EFL Trophy group stage as United took on Lincoln City, Bradford City and Sunderland away from home.

In the UEFA Youth League, he was part of the young Reds’ run to the quarter-finals.

Savage will be looking to hone his talents behind the scenes and maintain his development at the club in the coming months and years.
