Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen believes the Reds' home record can be the catalyst to help us finish the season in the Premier League's top four.

Erik ten Hag’s side have now won 13 of our 17 Old Trafford league games this season following our 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, thanks to goals from Anthony Martial and the returning Alejandro Garnacho.

Two home games remain, against Chelsea on 25 May and Fulham on the final day of the season, but next up is a trip to Bournemouth.

Speaking to MUTV after the game, the Danish playmaker spoke about how crucial our home form will be in the push for a Champions League spot, but he also mentioned that our track record on the road will need to improve...

Christian Eriksen reacts to a very important United win over Wolves at Old Trafford...

“It's definitely something that we need to do, first of all, finish the season strong with a perfect home record. But in the end, of course, for next season, we need to be as good as at home, but also away. And then it's going to be a fun season," he said.

“We know where we can pick up extra points, because at home, at the moment we're feeling very, very secure.

“Of course, when you lose two games, the extra pressure is on. But we've shown the character and the quality to be where we are. We're just going to focus on us. For us, it has to be three wins in the last three games.”

The Reds fought hard to secure the win against Julen Lopetegui’s side on Saturday afternoon. Ten Hag’s side managed to keep a firm grasp on the game from whistle to whistle, preventing the opposition from having a shot on target across the 90 minutes.

The opener came from a well-worked break with Bruno Fernandes playing Antony through. The Brazilian then squad to Anthony Martial, who tapped home the opener.

Then, deep into stoppage time, Fernandes slotted another wonderful through ball for substitute Alejandro Garnacho to smash home on his return to the side.

Speaking about United’s attacking display against Wolves, Eriksen told MUTV that he was proud of the effort shown by the team, especially considering the absence of top scorer Marcus Rashford.

“Everyone else is trying to dig in and help out and I think everyone on the pitch has had one or two shots today. And first of all, they had some very good saves from the Wolverhampton keeper," Christian added.

"And for the rest, I think we have enough chances to score. It doesn't really matter who scores, but it's lovely to attack and score.

“It's very good. And you can see the quality. He [Garnacho] will bring back the confidence of how he's playing. And I'm pleased for him to be out for a while. And then come back and score. It's the perfect return.”
