Eriksen: How Ten Hag has transformed our season
Manchester United playmaker Christian Eriksen has praised the way that Erik ten Hag has transformed the squad’s fortunes this season.
The Reds made a chastening start by losing back-to-back Premier League matches against Brighton & Hove Albion and our Danish midfielder’s former club Brentford.
The manager remained calm at that time and focused on what he does best: creating a winning culture, improving players and building a successful team.
United are now fourth in the table and in a good position to earn Champions League qualification for next season.
The Carabao Cup has already been won, of course, and there are two more chances to lift trophies, with the team preparing for a Europa League quarter-final and Emirates FA Cup semi-final.
How did Eriksen become a Red?
On a recent UTD Podcast episode, Christian Eriksen explained how his move to Old Trafford came about...
“He’s brought discipline in football terms, and ideas,” says Christian.
“His ideas are being imprinted in the players, compared to the beginning. Looking at them now, people know what they’re doing on the pitch.
“So, I think he’s done the structure, the discipline and then of course, his idea is just fun football to play.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Eriksen says: “If you compare it to the first few games of the season, I think we are in a completely different situation. Already we have won a trophy, which I think is exceptional compared to where we started and me joining as a new player.
“But I think in football terms, of course, there are still things you can improve on. I’m sure the manager would say the same as well, there are things you could improve. Of course, the league is far off, but in the cups, we want to go as far as possible and of course we want to win them.”
