Why Eriksen received a Premier League prize

Christian Eriksen has been presented with a special Premier League prize in recognition of the 300 appearances he's made in the competition.

The Denmark midfielder passed the treble-century landmark earlier this month, when appearing as a substitute against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

He made 226 league appearances for Tottenham between 2013 and 2020 and added another 11 during a short spell at Brentford, when returning to the league in 2022.

Later that year, he signed up with United and has represented the Reds 63 times, thus far.

Eriksen is the leading Danish scorer in Premier League history, with 54 goals, and he is also 12th in the all-time assists charts, just three behind David Beckham.

The 33-year-old is so proud of what he's achieved in the English game and is still enjoying life in the league.

“It's been fun with all the different challenges, with different styles of play from different managers, different players," he said.

“I would say, after I left Spurs to [go to] Italy, I thought I'm never coming back to the Prem, so that's also a sign of how quickly things change in football.

“Yeah, that's just what happened and I really enjoyed my time at Brentford. I’ve really enjoyed my time here and [I am] still.

“I think, if you look at all the stats you're mentioning and the numbers and whatever comes back down in history later, I mean, that's just the benefit of what I've done and what I've achieved.

“But no, I'm proud of, first of all, the games, but also the times I could be involved in scoring a goal or setting up a goal.

“Yeah, I’ve made history for a Danish guy.”
