Eriksen: There is still a long way to go

Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen believes there is still plenty of time for the Reds to turn things around in the Champions League.

Erik ten Hag’s men currently sit bottom of Group A after back-to-back defeats, following the loss at Bayern Munich two weeks ago, but our no.14 is confident we can turn the tide with four games still to play.

"Luckily it is only the start of the competition and we’ve only played two games," he told TNT Sports at full-time.

"There’s still a lot of games to play and catch up - we know we need to win every game to have every opportunity to go through."

United are beaten at home by the Turkish side in the Champions League.

United were twice pegged back by Galatasaray, after goals by Rasmus Hojlund, before Mauro Icardi grabbed the winner.

Eriksen insists that the Reds need to learn quickly to get back moving in the right direction.

"I think we had some good spells in the game," he continued.

"But at the moment when we go ahead and score a goal, shortly after we concede and of course that makes it very difficult for us to stay in the game.

"It is something that we have to change and it has to change very quick.

"I don’t think it’s [a lack of] confidence, I think it’s more the awareness and the sharpness.

"Going ahead twice, we shouldn’t throw that away and we’ve done that in other games this season.

"I think it’s the sharpness and making the wrong decision at times [that has cost us], the [bad luck] is following us around at the moment."
