Revealed: The most popular United shirts of 22/23

Thursday 22 June 2023 14:00

Manchester United’s new adidas home kit will be released around the world on Tuesday 27 June and, for many fans, the drop will signal the start of our 2023/24 season.

Yes, the Premier League fixtures have already been released - check them out here - but it does not compare to the excitement of seeing our players in another iconic red, white and black strip.

Our new kit will be available to buy via adidas, United Direct and the Old Trafford Megastore, and we can’t wait to see you wearing the colours with pride – please tag us via @WeAreUnited on Instagram.

As always, a dilemma is looming if you are among the supporters who like to have a player’s name and squad number printed on the back of the shirt. Who do you choose and why? Decisions, decisions.

If it helps your consideration, scroll down to see last season’s seven most popular shirts sold via United Direct, from the squad that finished the campaign.

The Denmark international became an instant fans’ favourite following his free transfer last summer, thanks to his creativity, intelligence and game-changing contributions. It’s easy to understand why his no.14 shirt became a hit.

The inclusion of our livewire Academy graduate underlines his massive popularity among the fanbase: he only broke through last August, but he's United in every way and, after signing a new contract, his future is incredibly bright.

Our Portuguese magnifico switched from no.18 to no.8 following Juan Mata’s departure last summer and the jersey became a best seller among supporters. Will you be wearing it in 2023/24?

Although he arrived at the club in late August, after all of our 2022/23 kits had been launched, the Brazilian’s jersey was right up there with the most popular come the end of the campaign.
It is rare for a centre-back to inspire a best-selling shirt - attacking players are usually the preference - but Licha is no ordinary man. Indeed, he’s extraordinary and beloved by Reds all around the world. Argentina, Argentina, Argentina!

Much like Martinez, the no.18 immediately became a cult hero upon his capture from Real Madrid and he is widely regarded as our most influential player. Case just gets it, and we get him. It’s a match made in heaven.

Who else? The homegrown hero has United running through his veins and, after scoring 30 goals - the best tally of his career - he deservedly became our Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year. Like Manchester, Rashford is Red!

United's 2023/24 home kit will be released around the world next Tuesday, 27 June.
