A landmark game for Gore

Amid Manchester United's remarkable comeback to win 3-2 against Aston Villa, there was yet another Academy achievement to shout about on Boxing Day.

Dan Gore, 19, made his Premier League debut when he came off the bench to replace Christian Eriksen in injury time.

The young midfielder already had one competitive first-team appearance under his belt, as a substitute in September's Carabao Cup win over Crystal Palace, and he has also been selected in three of our Champions League matchday squads this term too.

Gore came on in the third minute of injury time on Boxing Day to make his Premier League debut.

Stepping across the Old Trafford touchline to make his senior league bow was further reward for Gore's hard work and impressive performances in both the UEFA Youth League, where he has captained United's Under-19s, and in Premier League 2 with the Under-21s.

That wasn't the only positive for our Academy during the comeback against Villa, with Alejandro Garnacho's brace bringing United back from 0-2 down to draw level at 2-2.

The first of his finishes was assisted by his fellow graduate Marcus Rashford, who earlier teed up the Argentina international for an effort that was disallowed for offside.

Meanwhile, Academy centre-back Willy Kambwala followed up on the debut he made as a starter at West Ham on Saturday with a substitute appearance against Unai Emery's side. The defender came on in the 89th minute to make his Old Trafford bow for the first team.

Congratulations to Gore for his Premier League debut, and every other Academy graduate who featured in the memorable Boxing Day win over Villa.
