Fletcher: We created enough to win at Burnley
Darren Fletcher says his Manchester United side created enough to beat Burnley, leading to a feeling of disappointment after his first game as interim head coach was drawn 2-2.
Fletcher called the opportunity to step up and lead the Reds at Turf Moor "an amazing experience", having been asked to do the job after Ruben Amorim left the role of head coach on Monday, but was naturally left wondering what might have been after his team registered 30 shots in a positive attacking performance.
The Reds responded well to being behind at half-time, and were ahead by the hour mark once Benjamin Sesko scored his first United brace, but were made to settle for a point after Jaidon Anthony netted the fourth goal of the game for Burnley.
At full-time, Fletcher conveyed his feelings while conducting the post-match media duties that he will do again on Sunday, after confirming he has been asked to take charge of the weekend's Emirates FA Cup tie at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Fletcher to take charge v Brighton
ArticleDarren's interim spell will continue with Sunday's Emirates FA Cup tie at Old Trafford.
DRAW IS A DISAPPOINTMENT
"For me, the fact we have drawn is a massive disappointment. If you look at the context of the game, the chances we created, goalline clearances, a disallowed goal, 30 shots, lots of attacking play. We created more than enough to win the game so obviously it is disappointing when you only come away with a point."
MARTINEZ'S DISALLOWED STRIKE
"It just looked like normal things that happen at every corner so it's surprising that decision was given. If you look at the context of the Premier League this season and the physicality that goes into set-pieces, I have seen way worse on almost every set-piece, so I am massively surprised the referee has got involved there. It's something we have to accept but there was a lot of frustration."
HALF-TIME TEAM TALK
"I challenged the players to be better. I felt we were sloppy, I felt we improved as the half went on but I didn't think we started great. I thought our energy could have been more, the tempo in our passing and play could have been more. More forwards runs, and the players responded. I thought they were fantastic second half, we created so many opportunities and I'm so happy for Ben with his two goals. We should have scored more, that's something we're going to have to work on, and we conceded two goals as well, so that's a disappointment."
GOALS WERE COMING FOR SESKO
"I was so happy for him. I spoke to him yesterday and we presented a video showing his movement and showing his goals, just showing how it is coming and he needs to keep believing and the players need to get more service to him. He did that tonight and scored two great goals. A real positive night for Ben."
AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE
"It was an amazing experience. I'm disappointed we didn't win the game, so I can't hide that, but in terms of the experience of leading the team out, preparing the team, the fans, the support, everything like that, it's a pleasure. It was an honour, but I can't help but stand here and think that we didn't win the game, so that's my overriding disappointment."
IN CHARGE AGAIN ON SUNDAY
"I've spoke to the board and I'll be in charge for the Brighton game and then we'll take it from there again. It's one game at a time, so, yeah, recover from this game and then we prepare for Brighton and the FA Cup on Sunday."
