Beckham's praise for Rashford
Former Manchester United star David Beckham has praised current club forward Marcus Rashford for his off-field work to tackle ongoing social issues.
Beckham, who appeared most recently on Gary Neville's popular interview show The Overlap, has insisted the Reds' no.10 is one of many current England stars who should be commended for the work they do, insisting they are 'more than just footballers'.
David went on to not only talk about Marcus's work in recent years, but also showed respect for Raheem Sterling of Manchester City, who continues to make great strides off the pitch for the benefit of others.
"There is an excitement in this team," began the 47-year-old. "I talk about these players, about how they are more than just footballers, and what I love about this generation of players in particular in England is, with the power that they have on the field, they are trying to make change off the field.
"I see the work that Marcus has done, I see the work that Raheem has done and I see the work some other players have done in those positions. The things they are doing outside of the game is exceptional, really exceptional, because they are using their platform to drive and help others make a change."
"What goes on in their lives should never go on. But the fact that they are now helping other people and helping educate people about racism and things that they go through every day, whether it be on social media or everyday life, they are making change and that's why I love this group of players and this generation of players."
Rashford is not the only Three Lions star to be involved in charitable work, it must be said, with fellow England team-mates Harry Kane, Tyrone Mings and Jordan Henderson also coming together to help the NHS during the recent Covid-19 pandemic, aiding in the ‘#PlayersTogether’ campaign.

Beckham too has been superb in his own charitable endeavours, and teamed up with UNICEF recently for this year's annual Soccer Aid match at the London Stadium, which helped to raise a record-breaking £16.5million along the way.
The former Real Madrid star is also involved in various other projects too, as a founding member of the Malaria No More UK charity and as a long-time supporter for Help for Heroes, too.
