De Gea to at least share Premier League Golden Glove

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea will at least share the Premier League's Golden Glove award for the 2022/23 season, following Saturday's 2-0 win over Wolves.

The Reds had control over much of proceedings during the victory at Old Trafford, resulting in a relatively quiet outing for our stopper, who faced zero shots on target en route to his 16th clean sheet of the league season.

It means that De Gea holds an unassailable lead over Alisson (Liverpool), Nick Pope (Newcastle United) and Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal), who all boast 13 cleans sheets and can only match De Gea’s total, with three matches each left to play in the competition.

One more shutout for De Gea in our final three matches - against Bournemouth, Chelsea and Fulham - will therefore see him win the coveted prize outright.

The 32-year-old has been an ever-present for United in the Premier League this term, and is on course to play all 38 of our games in a top-flight campaign for the fourth time in the last five seasons.

It marks the second time that our no.1 has won the Premier League Golden Glove, having first earned the award during the 2017/18 season.

De Gea's 18 clean sheets played a crucial role in helping United achieve our highest points total and league placing in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era on that occasion.

Congratulations, David!
