Old Trafford to say goodbye to Denis Law
Fans will be able to pay their respects to legendary Manchester United striker Denis Law today.
One of our greatest-ever players sadly passed away last month, aged 84, and his funeral is being held at Manchester Cathedral on Tuesday afternoon (11 February).
A Book of Condolence will be made available via the East Stand hospitality reception at Old Trafford, between 12:00 and 14:00 GMT, so supporters can leave their personal messages and memories of 'The King of the Stretford End'.
Denis Law: 1940-2025
With 237 goals in 404 appearances, Denis Law will always be celebrated as one of the club’s greatest players...
The hearse and funeral procession will pass the ground around 13:10 GMT, with staff and the general public due to pay their final respects to a man immortalised in two statues at the stadium he graced with his talents for nine years, after signing from Torino in 1962.
The route will take in Chester Road, Sir Matt Busby Way and the East Stand forecourt, pausing at the Trinity Statue, before exiting close to Hotel Football.
Flags around Old Trafford will fly at half mast as we say farewell to such an iconic figure.
The United Megastore will be closed between 13:00 and 13:30 GMT as a result of the activities.
Donations can be made to two charities that will be referenced in the Order of Service at the funeral.
