Confirmed: United's FA Cup third-round tie

Monday 28 November 2022 19:28

Manchester United will face Everton at home in the Emirates FA Cup third round.

Old Trafford will stage the mouthwatering tie between 6 and 9 January 2023, a fixture that will be Erik ten Hag's managerial debut in the competition.

The Dutchman already has one victory over Everton under his belt, after guiding the Reds to a narrow 2-1 triumph in the Premier League, at Goodison Park in October.

The last meeting between the clubs at the Theatre of Dreams was in October 2021, when Anthony Martial scored in a 1-1 draw.

United were among the last six teams to be pulled out of the pot. Much earlier in the procedure, our neighbours Manchester City were also handed a blockbuster home fixture, against Chelsea.

There are three other ties to be played between Premier League sides. Liverpool will take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield, where the third-round draw was made this Monday evening by former England internationals Mark Wright and Rachel Brown.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace will host Southampton and Brentford will be at home to West Ham United in a London derby.
