Details we noticed on our new kit

THE THEATRE OF DREAMS

The players loved this shirt when we showed it to them for the first time at our kit shoot. But there was one element in particular that they all picked out — something they saw when turning it over in their hands. That was the beautifully printed ‘Theatre of Dreams’, which sits just under the collar on the shirt’s back.

It speaks to the inspiration for the new kit overall, which adidas say “takes inspiration from Old Trafford and the feeling it evokes to those fortunate enough to stand pitch-side when the stadium is at its quietest.”

SLEEVE CUFFS ARE BACK

The new shirt features black and white sleeve cuffs, on both the short-sleeved versions. It’s the first time our home kit has featured these since the 2021/22 season.

ADIDAS PERFORMANCE LOGO

The adidas Performance logo is on this one, as it has been for our last two home shirts, with its clean three-stripe, no-text look.

SLEEVE DESIGN

Jurgen Rank, senior design director at adidas, says they “wanted to do something a little different, using the sleeves as a canvas.”

So, what’s on the sleeves?

Well, a unique retro-feeling design in different shades of United red, a nod towards the angular design of Old Trafford, which always brings that special feeling in your stomach as you walk up towards the Theatre of Dreams on matchday. The design — which also showcases elements of the pitch, stands and tunnel — is elongated in the long-sleeved version.

There’s a few more details you might not notice at first glance. The main section of the shirt on the front has a dot pattern, with the black piping separating that from the sleeves, and smaller dots feature on the iconic black adidas three stripes.
