Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot is relishing the prospect of playing in front of fans from across the globe when the Reds embark on Tour 2022.

Erik ten Hag’s side will travel to Bangkok, Melbourne, Perth and Oslo to prepare for the new Premier League season, with intense training and exciting fixtures on the agenda.

In a recent interview with club media, Dalot shared his eagerness to play in front of our worldwide fanbase.

“It’s great bringing fans to stadiums, back to football," he said. "That’s what football is about.

“To go travelling around the world, and see the love and support [our fans] have been showing, will be great. It will be a very good feeling to have them back in pre-season.”

Tour 2022 will be the first opportunity for Reds supporters to see Erik ten Hag’s imprint on the United squad, and Dalot is looking forward to working with his new manager.

“I’m sure that you will start to see a few things, a few new ideas from the manager,” said the defender. “Hopefully, we can see great things and start to build our ideas.

“[We need to] train properly in the pre-season and hopefully start the season well.”

This will be United’s first tour since 2019 as travel has been limited for the past couple of seasons due to Covid restrictions..

The 23-year-old is enthused by the prospect of getting back to travelling to several different countries, and having the opportunity to play in some iconic venues, such as the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

“It’s always exciting, as soon as we finish our holiday, to start again with this club and see the supporters that we all love from all over the world," he added.

“We’re [going to] some great countries, with a lot of Man United fans there, so we’re looking forward to seeing them.

“Last time we had a pre-season, we went to Perth, so I’ve been there with the squad. I’ve never been to Melbourne or Bangkok, but they are some great places, so I’m looking forward to playing there.”
