Diogo Dalot fared better than any other Premier League right-back when it came to winning personal duels last season.

The defender, currently away with Portugal on international duty, recently signed a new long-term contract with Manchester United, to reflect his importance to manager Erik ten Hag.

Capable of performing on either side of the back four, Dalot also impressed during the winter World Cup for his country, in a jam-packed campaign.

The 2022/23 football season reaches its denouement, with qualifiers, Nations League games and friendlies on the horizon.

Dalot scored ahead of his rivals in the field, including Brighton & Hove Albion's Joel Veltman, Liverpool man Trent Alexander-Arnold, Chelsea stalwart Cesar Azpilicueta and Newcastle United captain Kieran Trippier.

The 24-year-old also made more key passes than any of his fellow United defenders (54) and averaged the most crosses per game (1.71) when compared to our other full-backs.

He is preparing for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Saturday, and next week's trip to Iceland.
