Dylan Levitt in action for Wales against Finland

Dream debut for United youngster Levitt

It was a night to remember for past, present and potential future Manchester United stars - the latter being 19-year-old Dylan Levitt - as Wales beat Finland in the National League.

Levitt was given his senior international debut by club legend Ryan Giggs and he finished the game in Helsinki on the winning side, thanks to an assist from current Reds winger Dan James.

The latter was Wales' main attacking threat, not only delivering the pinpoint ball for Kieffer Moore to make it 1-0 to the visitors in the 80th minute but also crossing for the same Cardiff City striker to head home in the first half - only for that effort to be disallowed.
James caused Finland problems in a lively first outing of the new 2020/21 season.
Giggs selected Levitt in his Welsh squad for previous fixtures but kept him out of the fray, delaying his debut, when the stakes were particularly high.

"When Dylan was [last] in the squad, we had must-win games so I couldn’t really throw him in and put him in that pressure cooker,” Ryan told us, when he appeared as a guest on MUTV's Group Chat in May.
The Reds' record appearance-maker added: “In training, he’s one of the best. He’s my kind of player – a good character, quiet but tough, and he’s one that I’ll be taking a big look at over the next year or so.

“He’s a really intelligent player with a good range of passing and he stands out in training in every session. It was just a shame that I couldn’t get him on the pitch.”

Which U23s prospect does Giggs rate?

We caught up with our legendary winger, who declared he has high hopes for a 19-year-old Red.

Now Giggs has got Levitt on the pitch for the first time and the Bodelwyddan-born midfielder has one senior game apiece for club and country under his belt, having made his United bow in last November's Europa League clash with Astana.
