Manchester United are gearing up to the Premier League opener with Wolves at Old Trafford on Monday night (20:00 BST kick-off).

There are a number of questions around the squad that Erik ten Hag could answer in his press conference and club media interview on Friday.

Despite training on Wednesday, new striker Rasmus Hojlund is unavailable while Kobbie Mainoo and Amad are also sidelined following injuries sustained during the US tour. Experienced goalkeeper Tom Heaton has also been ruled out.

Scott McTominay and Fred's availability is still to be ascertained after their lay-offs, while Tyrell Malacia and Anthony Martial did not appear in pre-season due to injury, but Andre Onana and Mason Mount are in line to make their Premier League debuts for the Reds, following their summer arrivals.

Ten Hag's XI for the win over Lens last weekend is being touted as a potential pointer to his thoughts, with Diogo Dalot starting at right-back and Alejandro Garnacho getting the nod on the left flank, going on to earn our Man-of-the-Match award for a daring display against the Ligue 1 side.

Last term's top scorer Marcus Rashford is an obvious option to play through the middle, particularly if Martial does not start, and Bruno Fernandes is set to lead the team out, against the opponents he made his United debut against, after being confirmed as club captain.

WOLVES' TEAM NEWS

New boss Gary O'Neil has not had long to get acquainted to his players after Julen Lopetegui's exit this week. There have been a number of changes to the personnel, with the likes of Ruben Neves (Al-Hilal), Nathan Collins (Brentford), Conor Coady (Leicester City) and Raul Jimenez (Fulham) among those moving on.

The Molineux outfit defeated Rennes 3-1 in their final pre-season friendly, with Matt Doherty coming on as a substitute after sealing his return from Atletico Madrid. Matheus Cunha and Boubacar Traore, who made their transfers permanent this summer, also got a run-out.

There are no reports of an injury issues but we await O'Neil's press conference ahead of the Old Trafford encounter.
