Ella Toone and Millie Turner are full of pride after United's dramatic come-from-behind victory at Arsenal...

“You could see at the end what it means to us all,” Toone said to MUTV.

“The fact that we came back from being down, it just shows the attitude that we have in the squad- a never die attitude.”

United had led in the first half, thanks to Toone’s opener, but looked to be heading for defeat late on in the fixture, after second-half goals from Frida Maanum and Laura Wienroither put the Gunners ahead.

But Turner headed the Reds level on 85 minutes, before Russo also scored a header – in the first minute of added time – to clinch the three points.

“It was euphoria,” Turner said of Alessia’s goal.

“As soon as the ball hit the back of the net, I couldn’t [celebrate]. I was just so gassed!”

The win also held extra significance in the WSL title race, as it was the first defeat Arsenal had suffered this season, and drew United level on points with Jonas Eidevall’s side at the top of the table.

Toone believes the manner of victory over the Gunners is something that should fill the Reds with pride.

“Every game we go into we want to come out with the three points, no matter who it’s against,” she said.

“Today was an amazing occasion, playing here and what an unbelievable game, coming from behind.

“I think we put on a really great performance today and we should be proud of ourselves. Every one of us at this club sticks together and we fight until the end.”
