Manchester United Women forward Ella Toone will be eligible to play in her team's next three games following a successful claim of wrongful dismissal.

The England international was sent off for violent conduct during the Women's Super League win over Tottenham Hotspur Women on Sunday.

Toone was given her marching orders in the 80th minute, following a coming-together with Spurs midfielder Eveliina Summanen.

Relive United Women's brilliant 2-1 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in February...

United held on with 10 players to win the game 2-1, with all three goals arriving during a nine-minute spell midway through the second half.

Leah Galton smashed home from close range to give the title-chasing Reds the lead, before Beth England replied for the home side with a superb individual effort.

Molly Bartrip's own goal, almost directly after the restart, proved decisive, although there were some nervy moments late on at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after Toone's sending off.

Although boss Marc Skinner suggested the club would appeal the decision, Toone had looked set to miss the meeting with Durham, in the Women's FA Cup, and key league clashes with Leicester City and title challengers Chelsea.

Happily, though, our no.7 is now in contention to feature as we look to maintain our lead at the top of the WSL table.

Toone has made 16 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring three times and registering seven assists.
