Toone voted January’s Player of the Month
Ella Toone has been voted Manchester United Women's Player of the Month for January, after topping our latest fans poll.
Our no.7 has now earned the accolade in back-to-back months, after also taking home the trophy for her contributions in December.
Toone pipped forward Nikita Parris and defender Jayde Riviere in one of the closest fan votes we’ve had since launching the women’s award a year ago.
It is the ideal way to wrap up the month for Toone, who became the first Red to make 150 appearances for the club in Sunday’s win over Aston Villa.

Toone began the year with an audacious strike in our fourth-round FA Cup clash with Newcastle, breaking the deadlock with a thunderous effort from the edge of the area.
She also went on to assist fellow nominee Nikita Parris for the second of the afternoon, as we dispatched the Geordies 5-0.
Our first league win of 2024 saw us edge past Aston Villa 2-1, with Ella becoming a history-maker by playing for United Women for the 150th time - the first-ever to do so. While there was no goal involvement for her on the afternoon, she’ll be eager to add more to her tally soon as she aims to become the first player to hit 50 goals for our women's first team.
