Toone wins Fans' Player of the Month award

Just days after celebrating Manchester United Women's triumph over Chelsea in the Adobe Women's FA Cup semi-final, Ella Toone will be jubilant once more as she has been named PFA WSL Fans' Player of the Month for March.

Ella was nominated for the award after a set of standout performances, beating competition from other talented nominees in the Women's Super League to claim the accolade.

Tooney netted twice in four WSL matches in March, with her brace against Everton on the final day of the month making her the first-ever United Women player to reach a half-century of goals for the Reds.

Our no.7 started every match for Skinner's side in March, proving once again her importance to the cause.

The Reds lost only once across the month, away to Manchester City, as we remained fourth in the WSL table and continued to try closing the gap on third-placed Arsenal.

Toone has carried her form into April too, playing a key role and providing the pinpoint assist for Rachel Williams in our historic first-ever victory over Chelsea on Sunday, as we eliminated the holders from the Women's FA Cup to reach the final at Wembley for the second successive year.

With four WSL fixtures remaining, and that FA Cup final against Tottenham Hotspur to come on 12 May, both Toone and United will be looking to carry on the momentum between now and the end of the campaign.

Congratulations on your well-deserved award, Ella!
