Ramsey signs new deal ahead of loan move

Manchester United can confirm that Emily Ramsey has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper joined the club in 2018 and has made six appearances in all competitions.

Ramsey will also join Birmingham City on a season-long loan ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

The Salford-born goalkeeper has signed a two-year deal at United.

Everyone at the club would like to wish Emily the best of luck for the season.

Emily Ramsey said:

“I’m really happy to be signing a new contract and extending my stay at this great club. Coming through the academy set-up and being part of the journey now makes me very proud. I want to thank the team and staff for pushing me every day, this group is so competitive and I’m excited for the future.

“I also want to thank the fans for their support for the last three years, we hope to see you back in the stands soon.

“I’m looking forward to working with the players and staff at Birmingham, I hope I can make my mark with this team and continue my development throughout the new season.”

Marc Skinner's side will play three matches in preparation for the upcoming WSL season.

Football Director, John Murtough, said:

“Emily has been with the club from such a young age, she is United through and through and it’s fantastic to see her commit her future here. She has a lot of talent, and we know that as a young player, going out on loan will give her the game time and experience she needs to further develop her game. We wish her all the best for the new season.”
