Bailly provides fitness update
Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has posted a positive update on Instagram after being substituted during Ivory Coast's 1-1 draw with Belgium.
The centre-back, who made his first Premier League start of the season against Tottenham, followed it up with inclusion in a three-man central defence for his country's international in Brussels.
He did well, as did his team, before sparking fears he had sustained an injury when he was grounded, clutching his hamstring, before being replaced by Odilon Kossounou in the 70th minute.
“Thanks for worrying about me,” Eric wrote on his personal Instagram account.
“But I feel perfectly fine, just fatigue.”
Franck Kessie scored the equaliser to secure a 1-1 draw late on, after Michy Batshuayi, who is on loan at Crystal Palace from Chelsea, opened the scoring for Belgium.
Our 26-year-old defender could be available for his country's next fixture, against Japan on Tuesday.
Once back with United, he will hope to feature in the Reds' return to Premier League action, at Newcastle United, which kickstarts a hectic schedule of matches at home and abroad.
