Ten Hag assesses Reguilon's start

Erik ten Hag has welcomed Sergio Reguilon's quick adaptation to life at Manchester United.

The left-back has produced two assured displays since arriving on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in advance of the transfer window shutting.

After an eye-catching start against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League, he performed well in the UEFA Champions League tie with Bayern Munich in midweek, despite the team suffering defeats.

Ten Hag believes the Spaniard is still learning the system at his new club but, like the fans, he has been impressed with his work to date.

“We're very happy with him and it is not easy to [be] coming in[to] a team you don't know," Erik told MUTV's Mark Sullivan at Carrington. "And there was less preparation.

"Of course, he's experienced. [A] very good base he has but then still to know our rules and we didn't have the time to teach them, to coach them in training or in the preparation time in like a pre-season.

"But he had to go straight in and he did well."

Reguilon will hope to keep his place for Saturday night's game against Burnley (20:00 BST kick-off).

The Reds are without fellow full-backs Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Aaron Wan-Bissaka for the Turf Moor encounter, as we bid to get back on track with three points on the road.
