Erik ten Hag has confirmed when Andre Onana is due back at Manchester United.

The Cameroon keeper has been away at the Africa Cup of Nations but played in our last Premier League game, the 2-2 draw against Tottenham at Old Trafford.

Altay Bayindir took over between the posts for the 4-2 victory at Newport County in the Emirates FA Cup fourth round but Onana will be available again soon, following his country's exit in the knockout stage to Nigeria.

Andre was an unused substitute for his country's 2-0 defeat at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium.

Ten Hag: There was a good spirit

Erik ten Hag felt his side dealt well with a tricky FA Cup tie, apart from allowing Newport back into the game...

"I think it was a composed debut [by Bayindir]," Ten Hag said at his post-match press conference at Rodney Parade, when asked about the goalkeeping situation. "Some good saves, so very composed. I think, overall, he can be happy.

"I was pleased with his performance.

"Andre Onana will be back for Thursday.

"Maybe, for the first time as long as I was manager, I can pick a team from the squad that is probably the strongest here."

Wolves will provide the opposition on Thursday night, the opening day of next month, in a 20:15 GMT kick-off at Molineux.

Gary O'Neil's side continued their impressive run of form with a 2-0 victory at local rivals West Brom, in their FA Cup tie on Sunday.
