Ten Hag gives his FA Cup team news

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed Andre Onana will be involved for the Reds against Wigan Athletic in the Emirates FA Cup on Monday.

The Cameroon international was recently called up to his nation's squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, with on-loan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat also being selected for Morocco.

In his press conference on Thursday, Erik confirmed that he expects Onana to be available for the 20:15 GMT kick-off at the DW Stadium on Monday night.

"So, we're talking with [the] Cameroon Federation," said the boss. "It was an issue during the talks with Andre when he came in here, and it's constructive, so we will see.

The manager provides an update on several players' deals with the club.

"I don't know yet [if he will be with us for the Tottenham game on 14 January] but he will be there for the game against Wigan."

Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez were both pictured back in first-team training earlier this week, while Amad made his first appearance since his pre-season injury in our defeat at Nottingham Forest.

The boss has previously stated that he expects the likes of Harry Maguire, Tyrell Malacia and Mason Mount to return at some point in January, while Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof and Anthony Martial have been absent recently.

Rasmus Hojlund was ruled out of our previous game at The City Ground due to illness, while on-loan left-back Sergio Reguilon has returned to his parent club Tottenham Hotspur.

"I think we will have, more or less, the same squad as against Nottingham Forest," explained Ten Hag.

WIGAN'S TEAM NEWS

The hosts are without Tom Pearce and Jason Kerr, with the duo sidelined, while Stephen Humphrys and Scott Smith are also doubts after missing the 1-1 draw with Barnsley on New Year’s Day.

Luke Robinson was recently recalled from his loan spell at St Johnstone and came on as a substitute at Oakwell.
