Ten Hag names last-day team at Brighton

Erik ten Hag has selected his Manchester United side for the final day of the Premier League season, at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Reds know we must better Newcastle United's scoreline at Brentford in order to finish above the Magpies and confirm a place in European football next season.

Acknowledging how important it is to end the league campaign on a high, ahead of next Saturday's Emirates FA Cup final with Manchester City, the boss has opted for an XI that can hopefully build on Wednesday's home win over Newcastle.

Lisandro Martinez makes his first start since the match against West Ham United in February, although he did come off the bench against Brentford in March and, of course, in Wednesday's game at Old Trafford. Jonny Evans makes way.

This is the only change to the line-up, with Bruno Fernandes likely to operate in a false-nine position, similar to the one he occupied in midweek.

The full-backs have been switching flanks, of late, depending on the opponents, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot nailing down those positions.

Raphael Varane returns to the matchday squad and is on the bench.

Former Red Danny Welbeck starts for the Seagulls, who are without skipper Lewis Dunk. Adam Lallana takes over the armband.
