Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has lauded the performances of midfielder Casemiro as of late, following our emphatic 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Our no.18 has seemingly found his feet, performing superbly in the middle of the park, alongside fellow Brazilian Fred, in our victory over Spurs.

Breaking up the play whilst protecting United's backline, the former Real Madrid man was superb during the 90 minutes and our Dutch boss was quick to praise the chemistry shown between the South Americans against the north Londoners.

Erik dissects how United managed to see off Spurs with a superb display...

''Definitely, there is a link between them, that is clear,'' began Ten Hag, when quizzed on the relationship between Fred and Casemiro.

''Casemiro is now at the side of him and we see him developing and proving why we signed him.

''He is growing from game to game.''

A serial winner, Casemiro has added a protective layer to United's defence, none more so than helping to restrict Spurs to very little during our impressive victory in M16.

Hoping to carry on in the same vein, the Reds will be bidding to build on Wednesday's impressive display, as we prepare to take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Saturday's clash at Stamford Bridge kicks off at 17:30 BST.

So many stellar performers to choose from but there can be only one winner.

With praise flooding in following the full-time whistle, our Dutch boss amplified just how vital the 30-year-old's influence can be following his summer arrival.

''You see how important a player like he is for the squad, he was magnificent and the performance shows the club's needed someone like him,'' he added.

''He is showing that in the last few games, what he can do for the team.''

Casemiro came third in our Man-of-the-Match vote after picking up the award against Newcastle United, suggesting he could be in the running for the October Player of the Month prize.
