Ten Hag reiterates attacking message

Erik ten Hag has had his say on Manchester United's 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford.

The Reds boss was thankful his side took two of our chances against the Black Country outfit, with Anthony Martial opening the scoring from an unselfish Antony pass in the first half.

There was growing tension, however, until substitute Alejandro Garnacho wrapped things up in stoppage time, to leave Ten Hag's men needing six points from our final three fixtures to guarantee Champions League football next season.

Wolves keeper Dan Bentley made a string of fine saves on his Premier League debut but this irked the boss, who felt his players should have been more clinical in front of goal.

Here is a selection of what Erik had to say in interviews with the BBC, Sky Sports and MUTV...

Ten Hag: Their keeper was Man of the Match!

Erik ten Hag thought United could have been more clinical against Wolves, but he was pleased nonetheless...

A VITAL WIN

"We had to bounce back. We had two defeats, individual mistakes, with no energy. So we played slow. Today. we had to win and we did it. I think we played a quite good game. Hot weather and the circumstances, but the players dealt with it.

MARTIAL'S OPENER

"The first goal is always very important. If you don't get it, stick to the plan, be composed and it will come. If it comes, it's good. It's better and life is more easy. There are more open spaces and we have quick players, skilful players. We will create chances."

DEBUTANT IN OPPOSING NET

"We missed great opportunities. And, once again, we make the keeper from the opponent the Man of the Match. And that's often the case! We have to be more clinical and then games are more easy, but I'm, of course, happy with today's result."

GARNACHO'S BACK

"It was a bad tackle the other day. He missed a lot of games but fought himself back. The medical staff did a good job to bring him back. You see how important it is and we have another week where we can train him and we can sharpen things with him, and the team as well. So we are even more ready for the last weeks."

REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL

"Antony dos Santos, I think he played a very good game. He was a threat all the time and I'm also happy Garna [Garnacho] is back and had an impact. The subs all had a big impact and there was the last week that wasn't as good with the impact of the subs. They all had a huge impact on this result and I'm happy, especially with that."

BOURNEMOUTH UP NEXT

"We have to see from game to game now. The next game is going to be tough as well. We have to prepare for that very well. Every game is difficult. We have to get ready for the game. It's not an easy life, you have to be fully ready for every match, every battle in the game. That is what we're working for."
