Erik ten Hag felt the value of scoring the first goal was very evident in Manchester United's 2-0 away defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Dutchman's unchanged line-up largely answered the call to perform better than on Monday night, when Wolverhampton Wanderers were eventually defeated 1-0 at Old Trafford, but the lack of a first-half strike proved costly this time as Spurs' resurgence after the break led to them taking all three points.
