Ten Hag: We should have scored more
Erik ten Hag was pleased to get the "job done" as Manchester United reached the Emirates FA Cup fourth round by defeating Wigan Athletic 2-0 - but he admitted the margin of victory could have been greater.
Only one opportunity was taken from open play - with an accomplished first-half finish by defender Diogo Dalot - before Fernandes eventually doubled the advantage by converting the penalty he earned by drawing a foul in the area.
But on the whole, it was a good night's work for the Reds, who will face Eastleigh or Newport County at the end of the month in the fourth round, after taking on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this coming Sunday.

Ten Hag: The job is done
Erik ten Hag is pleased to progress in the Emirates FA Cup, even if he thinks the Reds should have scored more...
JOB DONE
"The FA Cup is all about winning. It’s a knockout. If you have to replay [the tie], it’s two games, but you want to finish the job and that’s exactly the words I used in the dressing room: ‘Job done’."
WE KEPT OUR FOCUS
"We created in the first half five or six very good chances. It was, I think, good football and we should have taken more from that, but if you don’t score, you have to stay focused and I think that is also what we did."
PENALTY DECISION
"I couldn't tell. I haven’t seen [it since], it’s too far away from my position."
INEOS INVESTMENT
"I think it’s an inspiration. Everyone is optimistic but there’s a lot of work to do. We have had a lot of setbacks. I think in the summer we were on a good way, but it’s a journey, it’s a project. Now we have to deal with some setbacks but we will keep alive, we will survive it, and we will strike back."
WINNING THE FA CUP
"I think that is too far [away], you have to go from game to game, especially in the cup. So we take that, but now, first, all our focus is on Spurs [in the Premier League], of course."
