Ten Hag's team news for Tottenham test

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has provided the latest bulletin on his squad ahead of Thursday's return to Premier League action at Tottenham.

The Reds faced a gruelling Emirates FA Cup semi-final with Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, coming through 7-6 on penalties after a 0-0 draw at Wembley.

Bruno Fernandes picked up a knock during the game and was withdrawn in extra-time, but the Portugal international has not been ruled out of our next assignment in the capital.

Meanwhile, Alejandro Garnacho is making progress in his recovery from an ankle problem but Thursday's 20:15 BST kick-off comes too soon for the winger.

"There are some unavailable," Ten Hag told reporters at his pre-match press conference at Carrington. "[Lisandro] Martinez, [Raphael] Varane. We have to see how Bruno Fernandes is. We don't know yet, he is a question mark.

"I think, for the rest, we are quite okay."

In an exclusive interview with club media, Erik provided a positive update on Garnacho, as the teenager is back out on the grass at Carrington.

"Bruno, we have to wait," added the boss. "He is obviously a question mark. He had a big kick in the first half but he played the game, over 90 minutes, and even in extra-time. But then he went off. We've all seen. He's not excluded for tomorrow but he is a question mark.

"Garnacho is back on the pitch but he's not ready for the game tomorrow."

Harry Maguire is free from the suspension that forced him out of last weekend's cup tie, and the skipper's availability presents another option for Ten Hag at the heart of his defence, with Varane and Martinez still sidelined due to injury, as the boss suggested.

However, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw kept the Seagulls at bay when forming a central defensive partnership for the first time.

Tom Heaton and midfielder Scott McTominay have been sidelined with injury of late.

Donny van de Beek, who scored a Champions League winner for Ajax at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2019, has also been a long-term absentee after a knee operation.
