Ten Hag: We laid the foundations for success last year
Erik ten Hag believes Manchester United laid the foundations of the way he wants to play at the club last season, as he begins to look ahead to 2023/24.
Ahead of Monday's clash with Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas, Ten Hag conducted a press conference with local media, fielding questions about the fixture, his team, and the future.
During the media briefing, Erik was asked whether he felt he was in a better place to implement his ideals than the same time last year, now he has brought Andre Onana and Mason Mount to the club.

"I think the difference is, with reference to last year, now we have the foundation with this squad," he responded.
"Because we built the foundation last season. So [we built] the squad, the way of play, and now we have to find the right players to fit in and to raise the bar.
"We succeeded with Andre Onana, we succeeded with Mason Mount and now we are looking for a striker."
Later in his press conference, Erik expressed his desire for every member of his United squad to contribute to the Reds' ambitions of success in 2023/24, whether they be in the starting XI or on the bench.
The Dutchman's blueprint for United is becoming clearer with every passing week and match, with every new recruit buying into the shared ideology within the Reds squad.
