Erik: We have to reset
Erik ten Hag insists Manchester United must take a lot of lessons from Sunday’s heavy defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.
The Dutchman was understandably disappointed following the 7-0 loss on Merseyside, after a nightmare second half saw the hosts score six goals.
Speaking to the media in the aftermath of the defeat, Erik outlined that his side must “do the right things” to move forward and bounce back.
Erik's post-match press conference
Ten Hag speaks to journalists following United's 'unacceptable' defeat at Anfield...
“[The bad days] are the days [that] if you do the right things, if you react with the right messages as a manager and as a team, you can learn a lot from it,” he said, in his post-match press conference.
“You can strengthen your mentality.”
With our Europa League last 16 first leg against Real Betis to come on Thursday, Ten Hag and his players will no doubt be keen to immediately put the Anfield defeat behind us and get back on track.
Erik has faith United will do so, and trusts the mentality of his squad to have a positive reaction.
“We have to reset,” he said to MUTV. “But we will do [that].
“I know my players, they are good characters, they can bounce back and they will do.”
