United v City: What's the team news?
Erik ten Hag has confirmed that he has question marks over several defenders, ahead of Saturday’s FA Community Shield clash with Manchester City.
Harry Maguire missed our final pre-season friendly, against Liverpool in the US, and will need to be assessed before the trip to Wembley, while Victor Lindelof and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are also doubts after being substituted early on against the Merseysiders.
Luke Shaw was not part of the tour but returned to Carrington this week following his summer break and his fitness will also be evaluated.

“Harry Maguire missed the game as a precaution, he is a question mark for Saturday,” Ten Hag said. “So we have training and we will have to see whether he is fit enough or not to be available.
“Victor played, but he is also a question mark and so is Azza [Aaron Wan-Bissaka]. Luke Shaw too. We have to see about [them] tomorrow.”

Lisandro Martinez could be an option at the back, Ten Hag added, but the boss did not otherwise confirm return dates for the players who were late arrivals over the summer due to their international exploits.
“That is [on an] individual basis and every [player] has a different background,” he added.

“We put them all on off-season programmes but they all have different starts as well in pre-season and in the weeks we were in the USA.
“So from individual to individual we will assess them and make a decision whether they start, come from the bench or they don't play.”
Leny Yoro, who had surgery on his foot earlier this week, and Rasmus Hojlund will not be involved in the capital, due to the injuries they suffered in the States. Tyrell Malacia is still also some way off featuring, as he builds back fitness after spending over a year on the sidelines.
Joshua Zirkzee will hope to make his United debut at the national stadium, three-and-a-half weeks after his arrival from Bologna.

CITY'S TEAM NEWS
Pep Guardiola has confirmed that the Manchester City players who were involved in the Euro 2024 final between England and Spain will return to training next week. That means Phil Foden, Rodri, John Stones and Kyle Walker will not feature at Wembley in Saturday’s FA Community Shield fixture.
“We try to give them the best rest as possible as much as possible. We would like more time but it is what it is, we gave them a lot,” Guardiola said. “All the [other] players came back, the England players and Rodri will come back next week.
“What we like to give them is what it is, don’t think about the schedule. What’s next, training sessions, it’s just step by step, the next game, try to be smart enough to the training and the right amount of time, so be fresh in the mind.
“So rotate the players as much as possible, and game by game we’ll see what happens.”
