Erik ten Hag confirmed at his pre-match press conference that Luke Shaw and Alejandro Garnacho will join Marcus Rashford in being unavailable for Thursday's UEFA Europa League clash with Sevilla.

Subsequently, it transpired that Scott McTominay will also be absent for the first leg of the quarter-final. The Scotland midfielder missed Manchester United's open training session due to an injury that is not thought to be serious.

The club revealed on Wednesday morning that Rashford - who has scored 28 goals so far this season - would be unable to face Sevilla due to the muscle injury he sustained against Everton on Saturday.

After being assessed, it was confirmed that Marcus will miss a few games, but that he will return for the campaign's run-in, with United still fighting on three fronts.

The club provides an official diagnosis on Marcus after he was forced off against Everton.

The Reds have welcomed several injured players back to the fold in recent weeks, but Garnacho and Shaw won't be ready for the visit of the Andalusian outfit.

Shaw sat out the victory over the Toffees after being withdrawn in the first half of last Wednesday's win over Brentford.

Ten Hag has not yet confirmed the nature of our left-back's injury, but it is not expected to be too serious.

Garnacho is a longer-term absentee, following the ankle injury he picked up during March's goalless draw against Southampton.

“No, [they are] both not available,” Ten Hag replied to reporters when asked about the pair’s availability during Wednesday’s press conference.

“Definitely the injury of Garnacho is more severe, is more strong, but Luke Shaw I expect him back at short notice, yes.”

In better news, Casemiro can feature while Christian Eriksen and Anthony Martial are pushing for their first starts since January as they gain further match fitness.
