Every United Women Players' Player of the Year
Across Manchester United Women's first three seasons, the squad played a key role in deciding the recipient of the Player of the Year award, before a designated players' prize was introduced for the 2021/22 term.
Former Reds striker Alessia Russo was the inaugural recipient of the accolade from her team-mates, after bouncing back from an injury-hit prior campaign to top our scoring charts with 11 goals.
Nine of those strikes came in the WSL - including two in the team's first Old Trafford game in front of fans, a 3-1 win over Everton - while Russo's form earned her a place in England's squad for 2022's European Championship, a tournament she played an integral role in the Lionesses winning on home soil.
Vote for your Women's Player of the Year
ArticleAs the Reds target team silverware this Sunday, we need your help in picking the winner of an esteemed individual award.
After standout attacking contribution was recognised in the award's maiden year, full-back Hannah Blundell's consistent performances in an impressive defence were acknowledged with the prize in 2022/23.
A battery in the backline, our energetic no.6 only missed two games across all competitions throughout the term and was presented with the trophy on the Prenton Park pitch after United had won 1-0 away to Liverpool on the final day, confirming an all-time record league finish (second) and points tally (56).
At the end of 2023/24, the gong was also handed out at the Reds' last game before the summer, this time at Old Trafford and to both Maya Le Tissier and Ella Toone who each received an equal number of votes from the players' ballot.
Both Reds enjoyed standout campaigns in which they helped us lift the FA Cup and subsequently shared the honour. Centre-back Le Tissier didn't miss a minute, while attacking midfielder Toone's long-range opener in the triumphant FA Cup final was one of several highlight-reel goals she was able to net across the year.
