Replays return in 2021/22 FA Cup
The Emirates FA Cup details for the 2021/22 season have been confirmed.
This will be the 150th edition of the world-famous competition, with Manchester United looking to win it for the 13th time after last lifting the trophy in 2016.
Some 729 clubs are setting out on the road to Wembley and a perhaps welcome change to last term's competition is replays will be mandatory in the early rounds, up to and including the fourth round proper.
Replays were scrapped in 2020/21 due to the congested fixture list, following the late start of the season, following the COVID-19 outbreak.
The EFL has already confirmed that the Carabao Cup semi-finals will revert to being two legs, after one-off games last season, including the Manchester derby between United and City at Old Trafford.
Another thing to note is the FA Cup fourth round is taking place later than usual due to an additional international break between 24 January and 1 February.
Meanwhile, United's first 2021/22 FA Youth Cup tie must be played before Saturday 11 December.
