Silverware to be paraded at Old Trafford

The stage is set for a special occasion as Manchester United Women close the curtain on the 2023/24 campaign, by celebrating the FA Cup success with more than 30,000 fans at Old Trafford on Saturday.

During the post-match lap of appreciation, the FA Cup trophy will be paraded to the fans by the players and staff who secured United Women’s first major honour.

More silverware will be presented in the build-up, with the Women’s Player of the Year, Goal of the Season and Player’s Player of the Year award winners all set to be celebrated at pitchside ahead of kick-off.

Voting has now closed for the Player of the Year Award after thousands of fans had their say on who the standout performer of the season has been.

England international Ella Toone is among the contenders for the Goal of the Season prize after netting four of the 10 shortlisted strikes - including the opener in our 4-0 win at Wembley last weekend.

In addition to the first-team celebrations, the women’s Under-21s and Under-16s will be stepping out at half-time to showcase their trophies.

The Under-21s were crowned champions of the Academy Northern Division on 25 April and, two days later, the Under-16s won the Women’s Professional Game Academy (WPGA) Cup by beating holders Arsenal 3-1 in the final.

The fixture is Emma Hayes’ final game in charge of Chelsea Women after 12 years as head coach. Ahead of kick-off, United boss Marc Skinner will present a gift from the club as a gesture of respect for Emma’s huge achievements in women’s football.

United will be chasing points as we vie with Liverpool for a fourth-placed finish in the WSL, while Chelsea go into the final game top of the table on goal difference, but level on points with Manchester City, as they chase a fifth consecutive title.

The atmosphere will be further boosted by a live DJ in the stadium and increased pre-match entertainment as the sun is set to shine on Old Trafford for the duration of the afternoon.

Tickets are still available for the afternoon of top-class women’s football and start from just £7.50 for concessions, and £15 for adults.

They will remain on sale for the fixture until kick-off.
