FC Copenhagen name their travelling squad v United

The group notably includes Rasmus Hojlund’s younger brother Oscar. Their other sibling, Emil, has been named in the Under-19s squad for Tuesday afternoon’s UEFA Youth League fixture.

“Birger will be scanned later today, so we will be given a precise diagnosis, and when we have complete clarity over the time horizon, we will report more precisely,” says Neestrup. “Andreas Cornelius is not coming to Manchester, but it has long been planned and he is not injured.

“He has had a really good 14 days on the training ground and played 35 good minutes against Vejle, and as part of his dosage, he is training individually at home the next few days and with the team on Thursday and Friday so that he can be in the squad again against Hvidovre on Saturday. We find these inclusions and exclusions necessary to ensure his return as best as possible.

“Emil Hojlund is in the Youth League squad with a view to playing their United match tomorrow afternoon. Theo Sander will also participate here and will join our squad again afterwards.”
