Five items from the first Fans' Forum of 2024/25

Monday 21 October 2024 16:48

Club and fan representatives met for the first Fans’ Forum of 2024/25 at Old Trafford on 16 October.

This meeting was the first of four Fans’ Forums to take place across the season, where fan reps and club officials discuss important matters related to supporters, both on a local and global scale. The forum is an opportunity for fan reps to put forward questions from United’s supporter network and to advise on processes and solutions which impact fan experience.

In addition to welcoming three new fan reps for 2024/25, the meeting was also attended by Omar Berrada, United's chief executive officer, who opened the forum by outlining key focus areas for the club and thanked representatives in advance for their support and engagement on behalf of the fanbase.

The full minutes from the October Fans’ Forum are documented here.

TOP FIVE TAKEAWAYS

  1. The Old Trafford stadium regeneration survey received a record response from supporters. Thanks to all who submitted their views, which are now being analysed and incorporated into ongoing feasibility studies, along with further qualitative fan data. We will continue to ensure fans are consulted throughout all stages of the regeneration project.

  2. The forum discussed alternative ways to issue tickets for European away games, while protecting the integrity of the credit system and overall fan experience.

  3. Following feedback from fan representatives, Transport for Greater Manchester has confirmed a post-match shuttle bus service will recommence from 5 January 2025. 12-15 buses will transport fans, after leaving the stadium, into the city centre and tickets will remain in line with standard Bee Network bus fares.

  4. A new post-match player signing area has been introduced for women’s games at Leigh Sports Village to protect both fan and player safety on matchday. Supporters will be able to apply for tickets to enter a fan 'hub' on a match-by-match basis (WSL home weekend fixtures only).

  5. The International Suite will be kept open for fans post-match (on a trial basis), starting from United v Chelsea on Sunday 3 November. Fans will be able to meet up with supporters from other areas of the stadium to enjoy a post-match drink and watch match highlights. Entry will be ticketed and communications to fans will follow over the coming weeks.

The next Fans’ Forum will take place in December. Supporters can submit questions to the forum via their fan representative here.
